Since Bryson's Surgery and Foundation News!

Been a busy little bee since Bryson's surgery! He feels so fantastic and I am exhausted. I will never complain about having to catheterize my child ever again. The vesicostomy causes Bryson to tinkle constantly all day and night and I have been on double diaper duty and my diaper costs have more than doubled since the surgery. It's doing the job, though, of keeping the infections away and he feels so good it's almost scary! I just thought he was a ball of energy before. Well, let me tell ya, he is more than a handful now! It's good, but tiring all at the same time. I think we have finally hit the terrible two's now and the throwing of fits has come into play. Bryson can be quite the bossy, moody, down right mean, then hilarious child all in a matter of minutes! He's still good more than not, though, and is still the sweetest, most loveable little guy on the planet. We all have our moments, I guess...even a two yr old. He's growing and getting so big too. I don't know what I'm gonna do when I can't hold him anymore. On January 21st he will be 3 yrs old and I can't even believe it. Where does the time go? All he can talk about right now is Santa and how he's gonna get lots and lots of toys for Christmas! It's hilarious because he has this huge Santa that he talks to every day and he says, "Santa, are you coming? Are you gonna bring me lots of toys?" He even pretends to call Santa on the phone! Christmas will be a blast this year because he's older and understands how it works now. I tell him that even though Santa brings toys for Christmas, that Christmas is really about the day Jesus was born and it's when we celebrate Jesus' birthday and that's really what Christmas is about and what it means. He doesn't quite understand that part yet, but he will because I will keep telling him.

The Warrior Families Beating Spina Bifida Foundation is almost up and running and I couldn't be more proud or excited! All the paperwork is done and ready to be mailed in and now all we have to do is wait for the approval to come back and we will be considered a non-profit organization and can start our campaign to help everyone who has a spina bifida related need. I have prayed for so long or God to show me His plan and purpose for me and this is it. Having a child born with spina bifida has taught me so much and has made me think so far outside of myself and has brought me so much closer to God. I was a very selfish person and lived by the ways of the world before Bryson and I am so thankful that I am living my life for God and my son now. This whole experience has truly changed me for the better.

So, lots of exciting things are in my future and I am happy and honored to be a part of something that is going to be so huge. I have the chance to help beat this thing called spina bifida and for that I am grateful and oh so thankful!

 So Thankful Today!

Bryson has been feeling so good since he had surgery. That was one sick little boy for a very long time. He is a total wild man now, and I just thought I could barely keep up with him before. Well, let me tell ya something...I didn't know he could be any more active, but he definitely is and I am thanking God for his health and wellness and for his energy. He is singing all the time and squealing and laughing and rolling and scooting all over the place. He is also sleeping much better and eating like a champ. Don't get me wrong, he can still have a terrible two tantrum like the rest of them, but all in all he is one happy little camper!

He's been going on and on about Santa Clause because he knows Christmas is coming soon and I think he might actually sit in Santa's lap this year without crying and get his picture made! Keep your fingers crossed! We've been telling him that Santa is watching him and if he's not being good Santa will take some of his toys back and it actually seems to be working a little. Notice I said a little! Lol! Christmas should be really fun for Bryson this year since he's a little older.

Bryson has been doing great in therapy and his therapist told me that he is ready to start walking in RGO's , which are braces that start at the waist and go all the way down to the ankles. RGO stands for Reciprocated Gaited Orthodics. That means when one leg moves to take a step, the braces make the other leg immediately follow. I will be calling his ortho this week to see about having RGO's fitted and made for Bryson so we can get him walking in them in his physical therapy sessions. I'm very excited and so proud of him! He is so motivated and wants to be upright and mobile. Lord help me when that happens! He will be into everything and will be everywhere! I better start taking energy supplements now so I can be prepared for the exhaustion! Lol!

The spina bifida foundation is well on it's way and you can check out the website that is still under construction at www.warriorfamiliesbeatingspinabifida.org. We are just about ready to file for non-profit status and once that happens, we will be up and running. I am really proud of this organization and I can't wait to start helping other families with spina bifida needs. We have a Facebook page, too, that is packed with useful information on all spina bifida related issues. You can check that out on Facebook at Warrior Families Beating Spina Bifida. We are a Christian based group of moms who are driven by our Heavenly Father and we plan on helping people across the nation.

That's all for now! I can't wait until I can start blogging about Bryson's progress after the stem cell treatments! God bless and have a great week! Happy Monday everybody and always remember Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That verse is what gets me through my day every day!

 Bryson's Surgery!

As you all know, Bryson has suffered UTI after UTI and has been sick for months now. Well, his catheter finally quit working properly a few weeks ago and it was just not going in and things were getting worse and worse with his infections. I took him to his urologist and the best solution to this problem with a surgery called a vesicostomy. This is where a tiny hole is placed in the lower abdomen and goes to the bladder, where another hole is made, and that's called a stoma. This stoma acts as a drain for the bladder and his urine drains continually straight into his diaper. This is going to give Bryson's little bladder a much needed rest and is going to let some damage that was done by the catheter time to heal as well. Since the catheter was not going in properly, it was forming false passages and was putting dents and holes in the outside wall of his bladder and was causing damage. This damage will heal with the vesicostomy and the high pressures in his bladder will also go down and his infections will stop. This is only temporary and the vesicostomy will me closed in about 6 months or so. After that, another surgery will take place. A ureter re-implantation will be done to lengthen his ureter tubes to his urine won'e reflux into his kidneys anymore, which has been a huge issue for some time now and was contributing to the frequent UTI's as well. Bryson's bladder wall is very thick and muscly instead of thin and flexible and his ureter tubes going to his kidneys are too short, causing massive reflux. Reflux is where the urine flows backwards into the kidneys instead of forward to the bladder. The high pressure being put on his bladder by the thick walls and also his major constipation issues, causes the reflux and the tubes being so short makes it a short trip! So, all of these issues are going to be resolved with these surgeries.

Now that you know all the medical mumbo jumbo, let's talk about some fun stuff! Well, it started out not so fun! When Bryson woke up from surgery he was a force to be reckoned with. He was yanking on wires and iv tubes and wanted all of that crap off and out of him! The tube they had put down his throat really irritated his throat and his cough made him sound like a seal! The doctors and nurses were great, though, and they took everything out of him right away and even though it was really late, they let us take Bryson home. He slept the whole way and actually ate pancakes at 9pm when we got home! He woke up this morning and was so happy and was playing like normal and ate like a champ. He is totally fine today and is being a typical rambunctious little boy again! I am having to watch his every move because he is wanting to stand on his head and he is rolling and crawling everywhere! Little tootie! He is napping right now and this is the only reason I am able to post on his blog!

Anywho, God is great and has shown me that we have to go through trials and tribulations in order to put our total trust in Him and to get to the good stuff that He has planned for us. I am trusting and having complete faith in the fact that God is preparing us for only good things and that He guided Dr. Strand the whole way through Bryson's surgery and Bryson is going to feel so much better now.

Birdies for Bryson! A Complete Success!

I haven't been posting on here as often as I would like because I have been so busy lately with fundraising, but just though I would give everyone an update on what's been going on.

A high school friend and I put together a golf benefit called Birdies for Bryson, as you all know, and this event turned out so great and we had so much fun! I got to see classmates I haven't seen in over 20yrs and it just amazed me at the show of support from them even though it's been so long. It was such a beautiful day for golfing and the golf course and club were just gorgeous. I mean, this even went off without a hitch! Everything ran so smoothly and everyone had an awesome time! God was with us on this day for sure because He laid it heavy on people to donate and donate they did! We raised a gross total of over $7,000 and after the course was paid and expenses were taken out, Bryson profited $5,000! Woohoo! Praise God!

Another great thing happened during all of the planning for this event and that was getting to know my best friend from high school all over again. We reconnected and bonded so much during this time. We just kinda picked right back up where we left off over 20yrs ago. It was so cool! Lisa Barclay came up with the idea of having a golf tournament and it was a great one. She worked her butt off putting it together and it turned out to be an enormous success.

Wow, what a blessing! I got my best friend back in my life and Bryson got an amazing amount of money for his stem cell fund! I have truly never been so blessed in all my life! God is doing amazing things in Bryson and in my life and I am so very thankful for it all. I glorify God every day for the things He's doing for me and my family and for Bryson.

Thank you Heavenly Father and Thank you Jesus for your blood so that I could be forgiven and can receive all the blessings from your Father and so Bryson can have healing.

 One amazing little boy!

I just had to share something Bryson has been doing for a couple of weeks now that I just can't get over! I walked in the bedroom one night and he was standing on his head! I mean, a full-blown headstand! I was stunned and I laughed so hard because I though to myself, "how in the world is he doing that"! I tried to get it on video and he, of course, wouldn't do it on command. I started leaving the camera in the room and every time he would do it, I would try to catch it, with little or no success. Well, I finally got a good one today! I can't get it to load on here for some reason, but I posted it on Facebook, so go check it out! It never ceases to amaze me how God is at work in my son's life and mine too! He is healing this little guy more and more every day and I am one thankful and grateful momma!

Birdies for Bryson and more exciting news!

The Birdies for Bryson golf tournament is about to be underway! This event was in trouble and was almost about to be cancelled due to lack of interest and not enough players, but once again, God has come through with answered prayers! My friend Lisa, who is pretty much heading this whole thing up, and I went out yesterday for 6 hrs and hustled up players and big sponsors and looks like the tournament is gonna be saved and will end up being a huge success! God has truly shown me so much favor during all of this and I am so grateful!

Ok, now for the more exciting news part....

As you know, I have been in contact with several other moms who have taken their children to China and Mexico for stem cell treatments and they are all having such wonderful results. Well, one of the other moms and myself have something pretty cool in the works right now! We started a Facebook page that has all kinds of helpful and useful information for anyone who has spina bifida or parents of children with spina bifida and is seeking treatments or therapies or just whatever. Well, we decided to take it one step further because there are so many of us out there trying to raise funds for these treatments and we are in the process of putting an actual Spina Bifida Foundation together! Yay! We want to help anyone who needs funds for treatments, equipment, therapy, etc., but can't afford it! Yep, I'm gonna be the co-founder of an actual non-profit organization! I am so excited and God is working in us and through us and in so many ways and we are going to give back so everyone has a chance to get to do the things we are doing for our kids.

We all work so hard on these fundraisers and in order for big corporations to donate large amounts, we need a 501(c)(3), which is basically what you need to become a non-profit organization, so we decided to go for it so we won't keep missing out on the large donors, and why not help others in the process!

I want to thank God for answered prayers, for the fantastic moms He put in my life, for all the friends and family that have so generously donated and helped put on fundraisers, and for His guidance throughout this journey! We've got a long way to go, but with God for us, who can be against us? I am witnessing on a daily basis what it means to "ask and you shall receive" and I lift it all up to God for His grace and favor and I give Him all the glory!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!!!!

 Feeling Kina Down :(

As you all have probably noticed, I can't get on here as much as I would like because I just don't have enough time, but I try to let everyone know what's going on in Bryson's life as quickly as I can find a minute to do so. I try to send out emails and post stuff on Facebook fairly often concerning donations and events because they reach a mass amount of people very quickly.

It has come to my attention that this offends some people. I have been told that some people don't want to be lumped into the mass email or Facebook category and would prefer a personal phone call asking for a donation or for help. I would never intentionally offend or upset anyone and the only reason I send out emails, etc., is because of the time limits I have these days. I think people who don't have special-needs children realize how much time it takes to care for them. All my time is dedicated to Bryson because he literally can't do things for himself. I am his only means of anything. He is constantly sick with UTI's and having to go to the doctor and he always has some sort of issue to be taken care of medically. He is in 2 types of therapy that take up two days a week of our time and I have to work at the store and try to run that business full-time as well. I am also a wife who has responsibilities. I pretty much do everything in my household except take the trash to the curb and the lawn work, which pretty much hasn't had to be done for like the last 3 mos now because of the drought! I do have a cleaning lady come in twice a month to help with the cleaning and Monty does the laundry on Sundays and takes the trash to the curb. Most importantly, he earns the living so I can be home full-time with Bryson! Everything else is my job! I am the one who gives Bryson his meds 3 times a day, I am the one who does his catheter every 3 hrs, I am the one who changes all his diapers, I am the one who puts him in and out of his wheel stander and takes him out to play and entertains him all day, I am the one who takes him to therapy and all his doctors' appointments, I am the one who prepares his meals and feeds him, I am the one who takes him to work with me every day, I am the one who does all the grocery shopping, I am the one who does all the cooking, serving and cleaning up of all the meals, I am the one who collects all the garbage on a daily basis and puts it in the cans, I am the one who puts all the dishes in the dishwasher and puts them away, I am the one who takes Bryson outside to play in the sandbox or to jump on the trampoline, I am the one who gives him all his baths, I am the one who does all the research and finds new ways to help Bryson and is getting the trip to China planned! I could go on, but I think you get the picture! So, I am very sorry to those of you who think including you in a mass email or asking for things on Facebook is offensive, but I don't have time to call each and every person to personally ask for a donation. Plus the fact that it's very hard for me to ask for things like this anyway! It's kind of degrading to have to call each and every person and beg for money for my son!

When I made the public announcement on Facebook, my friends actually started calling me or texting or emailing me to see what they could do, so that's another reason why I chose to keep that line of communication going. It took so much for me to swallow my pride and make that announcement because not many people knew about Bryson having spina bifida and like I said, I really don't like having to beg people for help or for money! So many people have stepped up and have helped by making donations and I appreciate it more than you will ever imagine. The barrel race was so much work and it turned out so great and the golf tournament coming up is going to be great too and I so appreciate all the hard work that was involved. The cuts for the cure that was done in Oklahoma and the upcoming Zumbathon and other things Channing's friends are doing is phenomenal and I thank them from the bottom of my heart! None of those people have ever talked to me personally on the phone and they did all that! Then I have people saying that they haven't donated to Bryson yet because they feel I should have contacted them personally and they feel hurt that I have included them in the emails instead of contacting them. Believe me, hearing this hurts me more as much as it hurt them because those of you who know me, know that I would never do anything intentionally to disrespect or hurt anyone's feeling ever!

I am doing the best that I can, with the time I am allowed, and I just want everyone to keep in mind that I am a mother who is trying to do whatever it takes to get her son the help he needs so he can have a better quality of life. I would walk though fire, take a bullet, or go to the other side of the world for this little boy! I sincerely apologize for not contacting each and every person directly, but please try to understand it from my perspective and be a little tolerant of my mistakes, because I'm human and I am far from perfect!

Thanks for listening to me today. I just thought I needed to say some things. I feel better now!

Barrels for Bryson! A Complete Success!

WOW! That's all I can say about the Barrels for Bryson benefit! What a spectacular event, that surpassed our wildest expectations! God blessed us with an amazing turnout for this event and an amazing amount of money was made for Bryson. There were 485 entries in this barrel race and Bryson made around $15,000! It was fun and chaotic all at the same time. My mom and niece and Josey did a bang-up job producing this fundraiser. I've never seen people work so hard in my life to make something like this happen. I am truly grateful for everything that went into making this thing such a huge success. The race started at 8am and didn't finish until after 2am the next day! Can you say exhausted! Bryson and I got home at 9:45pm, but my everyone else was there until it ended. They all needed to sleep for a week after this event! Bryson did so good and had such a great time playing with all the kids. He was really sick with another UTI, but it didn't stop him. We rebuked Satan in the name of Jesus and nothing was stealing our joy that day. On our way home, I looked up in the sky and there was a beautiful full moon shining. Bryson said, "look mommy, it's the man in the moon!" I said, "yes, baby, that's God and he is shining His light down on us brightly tonight!" Bryson said, "yeah, He sure is!" "Bye, bye man in the moon. We going home now!" What a perfect night! I want to thank our Father, God, for this wonderful blessing and I lift it up to him and give Him all the glory for it!

 Good Times with Family!

We have had an awesome weekend with family! Had some great fellowship, great food and great laughs!

Monty's b-day was on Sept. 2nd and Bryson's big sister, Channing and her husband Cayle, came to spend the whole weekend to celebrate daddy's b-day! We love it when they come visit!

There was lots of laughter and lots of eating going on and the best time was had by all! Sissy Channing and I played our hearts out with Bryson! We all went to Greenville to the little strip mall to find Cayle a backpack and to get Bryson an outfit for the Barrels for Bryson Benefit and there was a place that was doing eyebrow threading. I wanted to get it done before we left and as I was almost finished, Bryson says to his Sissy, "Yay, mommy flossed her eyeballs!" We cracked up! This kid is such a comedian!

We had Chinese food for lunch and the kids were shocked that Bryson eats hot & sour soup and potstickers! That baby loves Chinese food! We were all so full and just down right miserable when we got done eating! Every bite was worth the bloating! Yen Jing rocks! Seriously, the best Chinese food I've ever eaten! Sissy Channing and Cayle left for Tulsa on Sunday and we always hate to see them leave. Bryson was asking where his Sissy was the minute they walked out the door.

Since today is the Labor Day holiday, we all went to the Tyler Zoo as a family outing and had a blast! This was Bryson's first trip to the zoo. He loooooved it! His favorite animal, he said, was the Lion! A Black Bear got a little too close to the glass and he did not like that at all! He said "Get me outa here! That Polar Bear is gonna get me!" Hilarious! The weather was just fantastic and we all had such a wonderful day. We ate lunch on the way home at Posados for some Mexican food and Bryson ate like a champ! He was talking and squealing about his trip to the zoo the whole time we were in the restaurant! As soon as we got home, we all piled up in the bed together and took a little nappy poo! We were all too pooped to participate!

One of the best holiday weekends we've had in a long time!!!!!!!

 Been Busy...Time for an Update!

It's been extremely busy at my household! Bryson has managed to get another UTI, so it's back on meds for him! Ugh! My dog got sprayed by a skunk and it took me two days of cleaning just to get the smell in my house under control! It's still not totally under control because the humidity reactivates the smell and it's coming through my a/c vents. Bryson saw a new orthopedic doctor in Dallas, who we love! I've been working at the store a lot too! It's just been a little chaotic, so I haven't written on the blog for over a week! Time to get focused again!

Ok, I will start with the new ortho! He is great! Very positive and caring and wants to help Bryson in any way he can. Remember, I got a new urologist that we love too, so things are definitely looking up in the doctor department for my little guy. Speaking of my little guy....Bryson is doing some pretty amazing things right now! God is working in him like crazy. When I tell him to wiggle his toes, he wiggles his toes, and now he is getting up on his knees, which he has done for a while now, but it's totally different this time. He is getting on his knees and pushing his rear end way high in the air by using his legs! He is putting all his weight on his hands, but he is pushing off with his legs! Nana got him a tricycle that is used in physical therapy that has hand peddles and foot peddles. He is still a little short and his feet don't touch, but he can just reach the hand peddles and he is now riding his tricycle by using his arms! I can't wait until his legs are long enough and I can strap his feet on the peddles so he can make his legs move by peddling with his arms. This helps retrain the brain to fire off signals to move the legs and is great therapy for training his legs to move! He is also doing this funny thing with his legs at night. He is actually pulling his right leg up to his chest while he is sleeping. The pt and ortho both say he is using his hips to do this, which is great because he is supposes to be paralyzed from ABOVE the waist down! God says no he is not going to be paralyzed and is showing us in so many different ways that this little boy is going to use his legs!

God is still in control and is showing me every day that Bryson is a miracle! I thank you Heavenly Father and I give you all the glory and praise you! When Bryson gets the stem cell treatments, we know that God will be the one placing them right where they need to be to repair the damaged nerves so my little boy will be able to gain sensation is his legs and will be walking, running and jumping! I sing God's praises now and I will sing them from the mountaintops when Bryson takes his first steps!

I absolutely cannot wait until I can give updates and show pictures on this blog of Bryson's progress after the stem cell treatments! Hopefully, this day will come very soon!

What a Fantastic Day, filled with Blessings!

Yesterday was a fantastic day! The fundraisers are doing so well, the giveforward site finally saw some great activity after nothing going on for a while, and Bryson was just in the best mood all day! God is answering many prayers and is filling our lives with so many blessings right now! Thank you Heavenly Father for always providing and being so faithful and giving to us when we need it. Bryson has already been such a testimony that God is in the business of granting miracles and healing and I absolutely cannot wait until Bryson's awesome testimony after he starts walking!

Today is turning into another fantastic day! Bryson has been playing and singing and giving many kisses and hugs! I love it! Nana is out collecting money for the barrel race and is collecting money from the donation jars we have set up all over town and she stopped by to bring Bryson some new toys! Like he needs anymore, but that's beside the point! Nana is always bringing him new stuff all the time, it's her job to spoil him, and spoil him she does!!!! He got a new kitchen and a new fort with a slide on it! He was so excited and has been cooking and playing in that fort all day! He also got a Blues Clues animated dog and he is dancing along with it. Too cute!

It's now nap time, so it's off the dreamland for the little one for a while. Mommy gets a chance now to get some things done around the house for about an hour.

 We're Going to China!

Well, after a lot of praying, soul searching and talking to other moms who have had experiences with China and Mexico for stem cell treatments, we have decided to take Bryson to China instead of Mexico. Both places are fantastic, but in China Bryson will get four weeks of intensive physical therapy while getting the stem cell treatments. I feel the physical therapy is absolutely necessary to help those cells start doing their job, which is to repair the damage that was done to the nerves. In China, they will do an IV in Bryson's foot that will deliver around 300 million healthy cells that were donated by healthy Chinese babies and after those cells are injected, they will do intensive physical therapy, shockwave therapy, and Chinese accupuncture therapy for a week in between the injections. We are very excited about going to China because one of the moms that just took her daughter for treatments (who is responding VERY well, by the way) will be going back to China at the same time we want to go, so we are just making a plan to all go at the same time. This will be good for us because they've already been there once and they know the routine and the system and can show us everything from experience!

Watch out China....Here we come!!!! We are shooting for February of next year, so everyone please start donating and telling everyone you know to start donating! As you can see, the "Chip In" ticker on this page says we need $50,000 and not one single donation has been made from this site. We have raised $3,000 on the giveforward.com site and we have another $3,000 in Bryson's fund at the bank, but that is a long way from $50,000. Please start giving to this cause! It's for such a precious little boy who needs the help so badly! We will be gone for a month so we will need to have enough for the treatments and to cover our bills for that month. Please help! Thank you in advance and God bless!

God is Moving in so many ways!!!!!

Wow, what an action-packed week I have had! God is so good all the time! I have so many good things to report, are you ready???

First and foremost, I want to give ALL the glory to God for all the blessings I have received this week! Gosh, where do I start? Ok, the golf tournament is off to a wonderful start. We have made a final decision on the date and the location. "Birdies for Bryson" will be held at Lands End at Lake Fork, on October 16, 2011. I am very excited about this event because, not only do I get to see some high school buds I haven't seen in about 20yrs, but it is gonna be off the chain fun, with a chance to win a 2011 Dodge truck! You heard me, Longhorn Dodge has donated a new truck as a hole-in-one prize! Lands End has been wonderful. They are taking care of everything, even designing and printing up the flyers and registration forms for us at no cost. They are providing lunch for the players and taking care of all the games that will be played on all 18 holes and they are adding a link to their website where the golfers can register online through them. Heck, they are even emailing the details of the event to their entire database! Essentially, they are promoting the tournament, marketing the tournament and handling every aspect of it except gathering donations and prizes! It's been a phenomenal experience working with them! The "Barrels for Bryson" benefit is gonna be so huge, I can't even describe how big it's gonna end up being! The donations are pouring in and the prizes that have been donated for this thing are out of this world! The publicity it's gotten is unbelievable. We may be barrel racing til 4am on this one! Well, that's about it on fundraisers. Now, let's get to the exciting stuff with Bryson!

Mom told me a couple of days ago that Bryson has been moving his toes when she asks him to! I told her his toes always move and twitch all the time. She said no, he is moving them when she asks him to. I did a test and asked him to wiggle his toes and he wiggled his entire butt, so I told her it must have just been a coincidence that he was moving them at the same time she was asking him to! She held firm that he was not moving them and when she asked him to, he wiggled his toes and was concentrating on doing it. She said she showed 2 other people and they saw it too. I continued to ask him and he wiggled his whole butt every time! Well, today we were at Market Hall, in Dallas, buying clothes for the store and she sat him down and asked him to show mommy how he wiggled his toes. By golly, he did it right when she asked and then stopped and she asked him to do it again, and they moved again and then stopped, and then again! I was stunned! I whipped out my cell phone and videoed it and he sure is doing it! Glory to God!!!!! He CAN wiggle his toes on his left foot! This is HUGE because he does it when you ask him to! It's not just involuntary flinches or twitches anymore! He gets really still and concentrates really hard when he's doing it too. God is already moving in Bryson and healing him even before the treatments!!!!!

Please continue to pray for healing for Bryson. It's working and God is listening to all of us. God is still the Great Physician and is still in the healing business and He's proving it on my little boy.

Oh, and one more thing. This is hilarious! Bryson informed a lady today that "I'm the boss" when she asked him what his name was!!!! I just laughed and told her "You got that right!" "He pretty much is the boss of all of us!"

 God is Working in Bryson!

For the past week now, Bryson has had some really strange movements in his right leg! When we are in bed at night, his right leg goes straight up, bent at the knee, and he pulls it to his chest! I try to push it down and he fights me to pull it back up again! There's definitely something going on here people!!!! God is working in my little boy and He is giving me glimpses of what's to come. I am just chomping at the bit to get these stem cells treatments going. We have such a long way to go with raising the money. It won't be long, though, because the Barrels for Bryson fundraiser is gonna be off the charts and it's coming in September! Then, in October, we are having a golf benefit at the Links at Lands End at Lake Fork!

I have been cleaning house and starting over with all new doctors for Bryson here lately because it seems that he has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle at Scottish Rite. I found a new urologist that I really like and I have an appointment set up for a new orthopedic doctor in August. It seems like every time I ask for Bryson to be fitted for braces of any kind, they give me this pathetic line of "He can't, He won't" and they won't even let him try. It frustrates me to no end! When you have a 2yr old telling you, "Mommy, I wanna run, teach my legs" it probably means he wants to try to be in an upright position and wants to try to use his legs! Why do these people not want to even give him a chance to see if he can do it? I know so many other little kids with Spina Bifida who are paralyzed, but they are walking with the assistance of braces and walkers and it breaks my heart that no one will even give Bryson a chance. He has lost so much precious time and is so far behind now. All I can say is, my faith tells me that God has a perfect plan and it's all happened this way for a reason. God will make sure Bryson will walk and when he does, I will take him to all the doctors that said it could not, and would not, ever be done and show them what my God can do!!!

If any of you want to see what stem cells can do for Bryson, go to Facebook and do a search for Healing Ava Grace Fundraiser and watch the videos they made while they were in China getting her treatments. The progress Ava has made is phenomenal! Also, you can do a google search on Spencer Tomc Spina Bifida and watch the 3 part video his mom made. Jennifer gives a ton of information on Spina Bifida and stem cells. She is the reason we are seeking stem cell treatments for Bryson today. I talk to her and Jessica, who is Ava Grace's mom, quite often, and I can't wait to share my success story with them when Bryson get his treatments!

 Yet another UTI! Ugh!!!!

Bryson has another UTI, dang it! I'm so ready for this little boy to be well and rid of those nasty things. The good news is, I found another urologist yesterday and I really liked him and he seems to think he knows what's causing all the problems. Bryson's reflux is being caused by constipation and his ureter tubes are also too short. The constipation is causing too much pressure on his bladder and making the urine flow backwards and the tubes being too short add to the reflux as well. Dr. Strand did a sonogram of Bryson's kidneys and bladder and said his bladder looked great and his kidneys were not dialated in any way, so the problem is not the bladder itself, which is great news. He recommended a ureter implantation surgery to lengthen the tubes and to get the pediatrician to get Bryson on a bowel maintenance program. This should clear all the problems up. Bryson's original urologist, who I don't care for in the least, wanted to do a deflux procedure on him and Dr. Strand said he and Dr. Snodgrass don't see eye-to-eye on a number of things! Lol! Dr. Strand seems to think the deflux procedure would not fully work and Bryson would still have some reflux, so why not fix the issue the right way the first time, that way no unnecessary surgeries are being done. I like his way of thinking!

On to the funny stuff!!! When we were at the doctor's office, Bryson got to play with a ton of other kids. He loved it! There were cool toys and he found a Shrek action figure and let's just say he wasn't gonna let that thing go anywhere but home with him! I told him we had to leave it because that was the doctor's office toys and other kids might want to play with it and it would be there for him the next time we came to the doctor. He gripped that thing with a death grip and said, "No! That mine! I want it!" The nurse assured me that the office would not miss it and he could have it. He was so happy when she said he could take it home! He also got to pick a little toy out of the treasure chest at the reception desk and he picked out this little teeny, tiny skateboard. All the way home he kept trying to put this big Shrek on it so he could ride it! Well, when we got home he did something even funnier. He said, "Look mommy, I'm riding the little skateboard!" He had put this two inch long skateboard under his belly and was pretending to ride it! It was so hilarious!

So, the doctor's appointment went well and we found a new urologist that we like and that seems to care about his patients, which more than I could ever say about Dr. Snodgrass! This guy gave me his cell phone number and said to call him if I had any questions or needed him for anything! I'm impressed! God is still leading me in all the right directions and down the right paths! Thank you Heavenly Father!

 Finding new doctors!

Well, I've been going at it all day like a chicken with it's head cut off! I had a list a mile long to accomplish, and I did it all! Whew! I need a nap now! I had to make several phone calls, as I am finding Bryson a new urologist. The one he has now has absolutely no bedside manner or communication skills and I was referred to another doctor by a new friend of mine, who has a daughter that's 2yrs old and has spina bifida like Bryson. I also called around and got on some waiting lists for in-home physical therapy, because my pt seems to think Bryson only needs pt twice a month and I beg to differ! I had to go make bank deposits, mail thank you cards, go to the grocery store, and pick up Bryson's prescriptions! Like I said, busy day! I designed a flyer for the golf tournament and made up entry forms for that as well. God is putting some great people in my life and I am so thankful for that. I'm about to clean house with the doctors who aren't willing to work with me on Bryson's goal of walking! Seems like all Scottish Rite wants to do is tell me my kid won't, and will never, walk. They actually laugh at me when I tell them they aren't God and the only person who knows what my baby boy will do is God! I just let their nonsense go in one ear and out the other these days. Thankfully, the new people I am in contact with are giving me great information and Bryson is going to start getting the chances he needs to start walking.

The donations have just about totally stopped and it's disheartening, but I know God will provide in a huge way when it's time! I am keeping my head up and keeping my faith and letting God know that He is in control and I trust Him without a shadow of a doubt! I still pray for healing for Bryson daily and I still ask for the donations to start flowing in daily, and I know God will make that happen for us. When Bryson gets these stem cell treatments, I will give ALL the glory to God because I know it was made possible by Him and Him alone! Thank you Heavenly Father!

Well, I'm off to start preparing a special dinner for Monty! His favorite Chicken Scallopine! I haven't made it in a while and I thought it would be a nice treat! He walks over 15 miles in the this retched heat every day as a city postal carrier and he's always starving when he gets home. Just a little "thank you" dinner for all the hard work he does these days. He works his butt off to provide for this family and so I can stay home with Bryson and we love him for it!

 My Sweet Lil Guy!

Yesterday was the dreaded day of packing up the store for Canton and then setting up the booth in 105 degrees! It's always exhausting in the heat of the summer. My mom had the most brilliant idea, though, for keeping Bryson occupied and cool. She brought his little kiddie wading pool! He loved it and he kept cool and played the whole time and had a ball! I, on the other hand, almost had a heat stroke! No joke, I started getting cold chills and got the whirly-birds and thought I was gonna pass out and puke, then got an enormous headache! I'm getting too old for this stuff I think! Lol! We got 'er done and came home and cooked a homemade pizza for dinner and I gave the little dude his bath and got him ready for night, night time. He sleeps with us and he always wants me to lay down with him until he falls asleep. He was a little angel and was hugging and kissing me and just being so sweet! Next thing I know, he's hugging me and he pats by back with his little hand and says, "Aww, it's my best friend!" I said "Is mommy your best friend?" He told me yes and said, "I love you so much!" I actually teared up and told him how much I loved him and that he was mommy's best friend too. He said, "Mommy, you cryin" I told him mommy was crying happy tears because she had such a sweet little baby boy! I just love him to pieces!!!!! I am truly the luckiest mommy on the whole planet :)

 Keeping the Faith!

You know, sometimes I start to feel sorry for myself and for my son, then I snap out of it and I let Satan know that he will not shatter my faith or kill my spirit because he is a liar and a thief and I won't stand for it!!! I find myself looking at Bryson army-crawling, with his legs dragging behind him, scooting on his rear end across the floor, pulling himself with his arms on his belly board, or rolling in his wheelchair and it makes me want to break down into tears, but I don't because I refuse to feel sorry for him or feel sorry for myself for having a disabled son. He is a happy little boy, who has no idea he is different than other kids. He does, however, know the difference between how he gets around and how other kids get around by using their legs and he tells me to "teach him". I tell him we are raising money so we can get him treatments to make his legs work one day and that God is healing him too! He smiles and says "ok mommy" in his sweet little voice! I am starting to realize and learn that people really take for granted the fact that they are so lucky and so blessed to have children who can use their legs for things as small as walking across the room for a toy or being able to walk beside them at the grocery store. I have to carry Bryson everywhere and if he wants something across the room I have to take him there if it's very far. I have learned also that there are people out there who have it even worse than Bryson and I feel lucky and blessed to have him, without the use of his legs and all! He is a super intelligent, oh so very handsome, very outgoing, happy, rambunctious little boy who is so loving and brings me more joy than I've ever experienced in my lifetime! He just can't walk....yet! I know that God is healing him and that the stem cell treatments will help him rebuild the damaged nerves and he will walk one day! I also know that Bryson has the determination and the will to do anything he wants to and that he is very handicapable, not handicapped!!! I am the happiest and luckiest mommy because of Bryson and I love him more than life itself and I will do everything in my power, and will rely on God's grace, to get him everything he needs to have his chance at walking. I will have every type of fundraiser known to man and will use every resource I can to raise the money for his treatments!

The moral to this story is....When you start to feel sorry for yourself or your situation, just know that there is always someone else out there who has it even worse than you and snap out of it and count your blessings and thank God every day for them! Even though I have to catheterize Bryson every 3 hrs, give him medication 3 times a day, take him to a neurologist, urologist and an orthopedic doctor, go to physical therapy and occupational therapy once a week, I still find myself counting my blessings and thanking God every day for giving me this wonderful little angel I call my son! And, believe it or not, there is actually someone out there who has it way worse than me!!!

God Bless!

 What a great weekend!

Mommy, Daddy and Bryson had a wonderful weekend! Saturday was spent watching a marathon of Toy Story 1, 2 and 3! We all piled on the couch and had popcorn and laughed and played and had so much fun! Sunday started with some John Hagee in the morning, then we swam in the pool, took a long nap and then Bryson played in his sandbox, then we chased him all over the house in his wheel! He loves for you to run and hide and then jump out and scare him. He goes about 90mph all through the house, screaming "Come get me!" or "I'm coming to get you!" It hilarious and exhausting!

The fundraiser activity has stopped again and I am praying that God lays it on the hearts of friends and family to start donating. We have such a long way to go before we reach our goal. This has been such a lesson in patience for me because I so desperately want to be able to take Bryson to get his treatments NOW, but I know God has a perfect plan and will provide when He thinks it's time. One of the ladies I am in contact with whose little girl has spina bifida is in China right now getting treatments and I have been watching the videos of Ava standing on her own and pulling her legs up and walking with assistance up stairs and it makes me want that for Bryson so badly. We will get there!!

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for us. Bryson has a baby well-check at the pediatrician in the morning and then occupational therapy at our house in the afternoon, then it's off to meet with friends about a charity golf tournament we are planning for October 8th. The Barrels for Bryson barrel race benefit is going phenomenal right now! We've got some great people planning this event and it's going to be huge!

I hope everyone had as wonderful a weekend as we did and I will catch you on the next post!!! God bless!

What a great weekend so far!

Bryson is finally over his UTI and feeling so much better! He has had the best time this weekend,, playing and laughing and being so silly! He got to play with his good buddies, Chanlee and Camrbry at the store on Friday and he had a ball. The Disney Channel has had Toy Story on several times today and he has been watching it every time it's come on. He has seen that movie so many times, he can even quote some of the lines from it while he's watching it! I laid down with him until he fell asleep at his nap time today and I actually fell asleep with him, so we had a great little nap together. He woke me up by staring at me about 2 inches from my face and saying, "Whatcha doin mommy?" "I wanna hold you!" then he gave me kisses and said, "On you cheek mommy!" followed by "Hug me mommy!" He is so sweet when he first wakes up! Bryson is a really sweet and affectionate little guy. We are so lucky to be blessed with such an amazing child! I thank God for him every day and I thank God for the great works he is doing in our little boy. Bryson has touched so many lives already at the age of 2 than most of us have our entire lifetime. I can't wait until God totally heals him so he can walk and we can tell our story of a little boy who received the miracle of walking. Bryson is going to be able to witness to so many unbelievers and bring them to know the Lord through his experience. The stem cell treatments we are seeking is just a way to put the good, healthy things back into Bryson's body so God can finish His work in him.

 My Little Comedian!

I'm pretty sure my little man is the cutest, sweetest, smartest funniest baby boy on the planet! Today he was in rare form all day long. We went grocery shopping at Walmart, which is quite an undertaking with him sometimes, and he was happily singing in his own concert, where he sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star over and over. Everyone walking down the isles thought it was too cute and so sweet. He proceeded to ask me for hugs and kisses after his singing performance. I was glad to give and receive them for sure! As we are in the checkout line, the lady scanning our groceries was so impressed that he was only 2 and was talking so plainly and in sentences and the fact the he knew so many things. I told her that big ole noggin of his held a very big brain! When we got to the car, he proceeded to tell me he wanted a Happy Meal for lunch, so I told him after we put gas in the car we would go to Mickey D's for a Happy Meal. I guess a grasshopper decided to bum a ride on my windshield because as we pulled off, Bryson said, "Look mommy, a gasshoppa is ridin on you winda!" I laughed and told him that grasshopper sure was riding on our window. He said, "He sure is!" On our way to McDonalds, he says to me, "Mommy, that gasshoppa wants a Happy Meal too, get him one!" As we are on our way home, I'm giving him his chicken nuggets and each one I give him he is saying, "tank you!" He was being so sweet and polite and was saying all his thank you's and pleases just like I taught him. After he has eaten all his food, he proceeds to tell me, "Mommy you cute!" I said, "Thank you baby doll, you're cute too!" That just made my day! That little boy is gonna make a great husband one day!

 Busy As A Bee!

It's been an extremely busy and amazing day today! First of all, I want to give glory to God for putting it on so many people's hearts to donate to Bryson's fund today. My niece and her friend Josey are selling online raffle tickets and there has been a phenomenal amount of people buying them for a chance to win a day with a professional horse trainer. I think at one point, there had been over $400 raised in just an hour and a half, and that's at only $5 a ticket! A few people bought $20 to $50, but most of them were $5, so you can imagine how many times my android phone beeped with notifications today! I was typing like craze thanking everyone for purchasing those raffle tickets! The giveforward.com site did really well today too! Thanks to all who donated today!

Then, it was off to work at The Rhinestone Cowgirl. I own a small, upscale clothing boutique with my mother and we split the work shifts between everyone in my family. I usually work the afternoon shift so Bryson can get his breakfast, lunch and afternoon nap in before I take him to his Nana's. After working at the store until 5pm, it was off to Sulphur Springs, where I met with two dear friends of mine who are helping me plan a charity golf tournament. We hashed out the details for about 2 hrs and we are meeting again next week. Off to Nana's I go to pick up my little man and finally, home for the evening at 8pm. Whew! I'm ready for nighty, night dreamland! What a productive day!

Monday, July 18, 2011

Well, the bad news is, Bryson has yet another UTI! He has horrible relfux, due to his neurogenic bladder, into his kidneys and he is sick all the time with these stupid infections! I just hate it for him. He is having a procedure done sometime soon called a deflux, where a material in injected into the ureter tubes that will stop the urine from flowing backwards. This poor baby gets these infections about once a month and it's just eating me alive because he is constantly having to take antibiotics and I know it can't be good for him. We are trying a natural supplement called D-Mannose, that is supposed to help fight UTI's. We will see! He's only been taking it a little over a week now.

The good news is, it isn't affecting him at all! He has been quite the little character the past few days! His new thing to say when you ask him what he's doing is "Nuthin" as he shrugs his shoulders! We went to Sulphur Springs for physical therapy today and decided to stop by and see Daddy on his mail route and he was so excited. I thought he was gonna jump right out of the car seat when he saw his daddy walking up to the car! Right before Monty got there, some sprinklers went off in someone's yard and he says "Oh my gosh, it's raining" and threw both hands up in the air and then covered his face! I laughed so hard! This kid is so stinking smart, it's unbelievable. He has been counting from 1 to 20 for a while now and a couple days ago I heard him actually counting backwards from 7 to 1! I'm going to put a video on here, as soon as I can get him to cooperate with me, of him singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It is the most hilarious thing you have ever heard! I can't even describe it, you'll just have to wait till I post it and watch it to see how funny it is!

We have collected around $4,000 for Bryson's fund to date! Thank you God for that! I lift those donations up to my Heavenly Father and give Him all the praise and glory for it! Thanks to all who have donated so far. We still have a very long way to go, but I know God is providing and Byson will be on his way to Mexico very soon! Please keep the donations coming and I will be posting updates on the events that are being planned.

God Bless!

 The boy who gave $4!

We have donation jars set up at some of the local businesses here in Emory and I go collect the money every Friday and then go make a deposit into Bryson's fund. I have to share an amazing story of an amazing little 6yr old boy who donated to Bryson's fund on Friday! I went next door to the Prissy Parlor, a children's clothing boutique, owned by very dear friends of ours, and there is four one dollar bills in the donation jar. Usually there's way more than that, but the lady working at the store that day says to me, "I know it's not much, but let me tell you about the little boy that donated that $4." This little 6yr old boy was in the store with his mother, and I'm sure he was bored out of his mind, so he was walking around and saw the donation jar sitting on the front desk and started reading it. Next thing you know, he is pulling every dime he has out of his pockets and he puts it into the jar! He told his mom he wanted to help that little boy in the picture walk one day. Now, if you remember back when you were a kid, $4 was a lot money to part with, but he parted with every cent of it and was glad to do it! This is the biggest display of generosity I have ever witnessed! What a sweetheart! I wish I had been there to give him a big hug and thank him for his unselfish act. I thank God for that little 6yr old boy and his act of kindness! All I can say is, his mommy is to be commended for raising him right! Could you imagine if a ton of people started giving just $4 or $5, how fast we could reach our goal and get Bryson's stem cell treatments started? I would rather have a magnitude of people giving small donations than waiting on a huge amount of people to give huge donations! Please take the time to make a small contribution to Bryson's fund by clicking on the donate button on this blog site. It's a secure link through paypal and the money goes directly into his bank account. Bryson is going to make huge strides with these stem cell treatments and will reach his goal of being able to walk one day. All of us that were born with the ability to move our legs, take for granted how wonderful it is to be able to stand, walk, run and jump. Please give Bryson his chance to live a normal, functional life by making a donation today! God bless you all and thank you in advance for your donation!

A Day in the Life of Bryson!

I've never really been a morning person, but of course, when you have a child, that all changes because they are certainly morning people! Bryson sometimes gets up as early as 5am! Heck, he's been known to wake up a 2am asking to watch Barney! 9 times out of 10, what Bryson wants, Bryson gets, so we have been known to be sitting in the living room floor watching Barney for a good 2hrs or so before he finally gets tired and wants to go back to bed! Any other time, this would make me pretty upset, but Bryson is the most loving little thing first thing in the morning. How can you resist when a precious voice says to you, "Mommy, I love you so much!" and then he reaches over and gives you an awesomely huge hug around the neck! My heart just melts! We have a morning routine where we get up and turn the Disney Channel on and he dances and sings to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and screams out, "I wanna honeybun!" I get him his honeybun, which has to be on a plate...only a plate! When I bring it to him he says, "What you got there mommy?" It's too cute! Then, it's on to, "I wanna go outside and play in my sandbox" or " I wanna jump on my trampoline", so it's off we outside for a little play time. This morning he actually wanted to get in his wheel stander and blaze around the house at about 90mph before his cartoons and breakfast! Our next step of the day is to get his catheter done and all his medications taken. Bryson has a neurogenic bladder and bowel, so he doesn't know when he needs to go to the bathroom, because of the paralysis from the waist down. So, we do the morning catheter and take the Ditropan, which relaxes the bladder until the next catheter, which is 3hrs later, and will be done every 3hrs for the rest of the day until we go to bed. Anywhere from 11:30 to about 1, he will say, "Mommy, I wanna go night, night" or "Mommy, I wanna take my nap now" and it's off to sleepy land for about an hour, sometimes longer, just depends on how hard he's been playing. When he wakes up he says to me, "Mommy, I wanna hold you" which means he wants me to hold him! I think this must be a universal way of saying "hold me" for all kiddos because every mom tells me their kid says it the same way! After the nap, it's off to Nana's so mommy can go to work for about 3hrs. When he's at Nana's he has a great time swimming and playing with his Aunt Nik, Nik, and his Paw Paw and getting to do anything his little heart desires! He comes home a spoiled rotten little tootie after he's been at Nana's, but that's what Nana's do best! When I get off work, I go pick him up and he has to be put in the car only by Nana and it's the only way we can get him to leave her house. See what I mean, spoiled little tootie! When we get home it's hugs and kisses for Daddy while mommy gets dinner started. After dinner, we usually get to watch cartoons in the bedroom for a little bit before bedtime. It's off to take a bath at about 8, then to bed around 8:30 or 9. We all pile up in the bed...yes, he sleeps with us and has since he's been 4mos old! I guess he was already kind of a spoiled rotten little tootie before Nana got hold of him! It's time for sweet dreams now, until the next morning and the routine starts all over again! Bryson is a big fan of routine. He likes to know what's coming.

Well, that's it! This is a step-by-step guide to our life! There are tons of other things we do, of course, but this is the main routine we have on a daily basis. We have in-home therapy twice a month and therapy at a clinic twice a month as well. We also have lots of doctors' appointments at Scottish Rite Hospital for tests and kideny x-rays and mri's and so forth.

 Exciting News!

I got a phone call on my cell phone at about 9:15 tonight and it's from a 707 area code, so I just let it go to voicemail because I don't recognize it! Who would be calling this late! My phone alerts me that I have a voicemail, so I listen to it and I have no clue who the girl is on the other end of the phone. She says her name is Shannon and she would love to talk to me about an email she got. I was so perplexed that I had to call her back! I must know what she wants and who she is at this point!

Well, long story short, she is a horse breeder that my niece, Kenzi, knows and she was so touched by Bryson's story that she is sending him $1,000 tomorrow for his stem cell fund! Outstanding! God is so good! Shannon told me a story of how she has an 18 mo old baby that is teething and how her day was just terrible today because the baby was crying, she was trying to breed mares, her husband was out of town and she was just at her wits end! After she read Bryson's story, she started crying and thought to herself, "I'm getting upset over this when there is a precious little child out there whose family is going through so much more than I am and all he wants to do is walk" She said she just had to call me to let me know how much it would mean to her to send Bryson a check for $1,000. I was floored! I am in tears at this point myself! I had just been praying to God right before she called and thanking him for all my blessings and telling him I was sorry for be so impatient and getting upset that not many people have donated thus far and that I knew he had a plan and it would all come in his timing, not mine. I told him that I was surrendering it to him and not going to stress about it anymore and that I knew he would provide. My Heavenly Father is so amazing! The glory is given to him and I am so thankful that he listens and rewards us for letting him do his job!

I want to say thank you to Shannon, you are such a blessing to Bryson and my family. And, thank you to my niece, Kenzi, who is working hard on Bryson's fundraiser and who is also a blessing to Bryson and my family.

I'm pumped! It's 10pm and now I can't sleep! Too much excitement has got my adrenaline running off the hook!

 Fundraiser Events!

We will be having a barrel race benefit for Bryson on Sept. 10th at the Mt. Selman Arena in Tyler, Tx.! Please come out and join us! There will be a silent auction, raffle prizes and $5,000 added money to this event! We will also be selling "Barrels for Bryson" t-shirts!

Bryson's big sister, Sissy Channing, is also organizing a backyard volleyball tournament in Collinsville, Ok. in August! Channing's best girlfriend, and hairdresser, will be having a "Cut for the Cure" at her salon on August 29th and all the proceeds from that day are going to Bryson's fund! We have such amazing family and friends!

I had lunch with my dear, sweet friend Lisa Barclay yesterday and we will be planning a golf tournament to be held sometime in late Sept. or early Oct. at the Sulphur Springs County Club. I will post the details of this event a little later. I can tell you that there will be a silent auction, raffles, door prizes, t-shirts and a catered lunch for this event!

Bryson has been just hilarious this morning! He has been pulling off chunks of foam from the dog's bed and shoving it up his nostrils and saying "Look mommy, I got the boogas, ewww!" It doesn't take much to entertain him! He's such a little sweetheart too! We went to the bank this morning and he told the teller he wanted a "sucka" and when she gave it to him he said "Tank you lady!" So cute and so sweet!

 Let the Fundraisers Begin!!!

Well, let' see, this is my first time to blog, ever, so I'm not really sure how all this works, but here goes....

My family and friends are helping me set up numerous fundraiser events so my son, Bryson, born with spina bifida, can get stem cell treatments! Exciting times in the Chailer household! We already have one online fundraiser going on right now and anyone who wants to donated can do so by going to giveforward.com/stemcellsforbryson. The website is a secure online site where you can use your debit or credit card to make a donation. I also have a bank account set up for Bryson and you can write a check, payable to Stem Cells for Bryson Fund and mail is directly to me at 681 Rs. County Road 2180, Emory, Tx 75440.

Now that all that's out of the way....let me tell you a little bit about an amazing little boy named Bryson! My "little man" as we like to call him around our house, is 2 1/2 yrs old, extremely intelligent, and is the most hysterical little guy you've ever met! He's just a little ball of energy! Overall, Bryson is a very healthy little boy, he was just born with a spinal defect that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Bryson sees other kids running and playing and he always says to me "mommy, I wanna run!" Well, we've done research for about a year now and we have come to the conclusion that stem cell treatments will give him a chance to run! It costs quite a bit of money for these treatments, so we are asking for a lot of help. This is where all of you come into the picture! Once we raise the money for the treatments, we will all pack up and go to Mexico, where Bryson will receive donated umbilical stem cells that will be injected into his lower lumbar spine and also through an IV line. It takes approximately 2 mos to see any results from the stem cell injections. Hopefully, with the stem cells and intensive physical therapy, Bryson will be one step closer to taking his first steps ever!

Please go to the giveforward.com website and donate to this cause. We know with God on our side, we can achieve anything! Our faith is strong and we know God is still the Great Physician and with the help of the stem cells, Bryson will be able to walk, run, jump and play!

God bless and much love,

Kara, Monty and "Little Man" Bryson
